Aswathaiah Esthuri Sanjeevamma National Degree College, located in Gauribidanur, Chikkaballapur District, stands as a distinguished institution devoted to empowering rural students through high-quality higher education. Established in 1964 by the visionary leader Padmabhushan Dr. H. Narasimhaiah, a former Vice-Chancellor of Bangalore University, the college has been instrumental in creating educational opportunities in a region where access to advanced learning was limited. Recognizing the transformative power of education, Dr. H. Narasimhaiah founded the college with a mission to uplift rural communities by making higher education accessible, thus fostering academic, social, and personal growth among rural students.

This institution is managed by the National Education Society (NES) of Karnataka, a registered and reputable organization headquartered in Bangalore. NES Karnataka, founded on the principles of promoting education for all, has a legacy spanning over several decades and manages fifteen other educational institutions across the state. These institutions collectively contribute to the Society’s commitment to inclusivity, academic excellence, and social welfare. NES Karnataka’s involvement with Aswathaiah Esthuri Sanjeevamma National Degree College strengthens the college’s infrastructure, faculty quality, and academic programs, enabling it to meet its mission of advancing rural education effectively.
